Ironshore Capital, LLC was created in late 2007 to invest in value-oriented residential real estate opportunities. Ironshore’s operating principals have more than 20 years’ experience in residential real estate investment and development. The firm’s capital is provided primarily by institutional investors. Ironshore is an all-cash, non-leveraged buyer with management in place to take advantage of opportunities in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Ironshore Capital’s investment philosophy is to target quality real estate assets with long-term fundamental value but that may currently be in distress or otherwise out of favor. We strive to limit the risk of capital loss within our investment portfolio. We think of risk in terms of the amount and/or likelihood of potential loss, not in terms of performance benchmarks. Comprehensive, detailed knowledge of our investments serves as our most effective risk reduction tool. Our due diligence process for each and every asset involves one or more site visits, rigorous market and financial analysis, careful assessment of downside risk and extensive sensitivity analysis. For each investment, we prepare and maintain a thorough business plan to maximize value, including a primary exit strategy and one or more flexible alternatives.
Ironshore Capital has wide flexibility in structuring deals, including the ability to acquire assets outright, to invest in and manage distressed bank portfolios, or to invest as a lender to or joint venture participant with an operating partner. We have no investment limitations as to maximum deal size or maximum investment term. We have ready access to capital and the capability to underwrite and close transactions quickly and discreetly.
